Default What is this going to cost to fix ?

I'm looking to buy an s2k as my track car and I'm considering salvage cars to keep the cost down. Came across this theft writeoff and looking to get a feel for what it will cost to put back together so I can make a reasonable offer. Car in question is an 06 listed as 25k miles. Since Im not s2k knowledgeable Im looking for a little assistance pricing this one out.

Damaged
- Roof cut $1000
- Dented in driver door (replace door not repair) $??

Stolen
- seats and belts $??
- instrument cluster $??
- heater contol assembly $??
- steering wheel. $??
- radio looks messed up

Anything else you see missing / damaged I didnt list ? Do any of the plugs/harness look cut to you ? And what are all those wires coming out of the steering wheel ? Aside from the bodywork is this all a matter of getting replacement parts and bolting back on ?

Now a couple concerns I have are determining actual mileage and not being able to test drive it. Not to say the owner isnt honest but where is the mileage stored, in the cluster or in the ECU ? If I replace the cluster will the odometer revert to the cars mileage or the new cluster ? Also, without being able to drive the car theres no real way to test out the motor or transmission, suppose I could do a compression test at the very least ?

Mileage is stored in the cluster. This is the fist time I have seen someone steal the custer -

You are better off going with aftermarket seats and wheel - you will come out thousands cheaper.

I am not sure what the hell happened to the radio. It looks like they tried to get it out and messed it up so they walked away from it.

I can't belive these asshats cut the seat belt rather than unhook it from the seat.

How are you going to do a compression test without an ecu?

As for parts,

New top: $450-$700 plus installation. (Or cheaper if you get a used one.)
Door: $250-500
Seats: $500-$900 (might as well go aftermarket)
Wheel: $200-$350
Cluster: I have no idea. I've never seen those get stolen so Idk what they go for
Heater control: no idea but I'm guessing like $50 or so
Oem radio: $50-$100

That's what I've seen those parts go for. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm off on anything.

He's got his ecu. Just no cluster so it should start no?. And if it were me I would order one of those cheap universal eBay wheels for like 40 bucks put it on, sit on a bucket in there and at least go for a test drive around the block.

This car would sell at auction as is between 7500-10k.
I seen an 06 gpw with missing seats an cut top go for 14k.
If you can find someone that can buy direct from auction you will save
Thousands rather than buying from an owner.

I'm a fan of airbags, so I would go back to stock on the wheel ($$$).

Maybe you can find someone parting out to get the cluster for cheaper. I would guess those are expensive (really, who steals a cluster).

Thanks for the input people ! I'm still waiting on the owner to send me the VIN so I can have a look at what's there. I'm fine with an aftermarket steering wheel but does anyone know what's the deal with that ribbon wiring coming out of the steering column ? Never seen anything like that again and how does it all go back in ? I've heard of car thieves stealing odd but expensive parts before, the idea is to get the car "totalled" and they sit on the parts waiting for it to come up at auction. Then buy car cheap, swap parts in for easy fix + profit. Owner in this case is asking $10k.

Now are the heater controls integrated with the cluster ? I could see myself installing a race dash instead but I'd still like to have my AC working when its hot out.
