Honestly I would walk away. 2 accidents 1 theft just sounds like all sorts of headaches. Even once you get it running there is no telling what issues could come up due to prior damage. Unless you can get it for dirt cheap like $5k or less I would just leave it.

If you can get it for cheap I would still haul it to a body shop and have them look at the car to maybe tell you what kind of repairs it has had. I have seen the cluster in the FS forum and yes people steal them to put them in civics and what not. Atleast they didn't cut the harness. Seats you could get used in the FS forum as well if you want OEM. The radio just looks like the tried to pull it but left it and you can get a decent aftermarket one for $150. Good luck I would just really go over this thing top to bottom especially if its going to be a track car. You don't need some poor repair work failing in a corner at high speeds.

So true ! I'm walking away from this one, owner is rather stubborn and getting info has been like pulling teeth. Claims carfax didnt show damage when he bought it, took several days to provide vin, wont let me have it inspected by Honda.. reeks of sketchyness. I flat out said at this point based on info/situation its a salvage car at best and put 6k offer. Looks like he wants to hold firm at 10k, good luck with that. Id rather buy something else with less dubious history.

So the cluster fits a civic? That is probably exactly where it is today. I knew the seats bolted into civics and were a hot theft item. This was an ideal car for me since as a track car I could live with the ripped roof, forget the radio, install race seats and steering wheel, buy race pack dash instead of OEM cluster. Theres plenty more where this came from, patience is key. I already have a Subie for track duty ready to run so I'll bide my time till the right S comes along.

well in comparison, heres the car i just picked up
2002 s2k , 63k miles
=comptech supercharger kit with aftercooler, full comptech exhaust with high flow cat, lowered on coil overs, bbs wheels, reinforced diff, cluth/flywheel upgrade

car slid out of control and slid into a tree/pole , damaged driver door and damaged rocker panel below door, very small amount of damage on very front of fender and small amount of damage by tail light. It did recieve a salvage title from this. But i paid 6k for this car, it runs perfect. drives straight and is fast lol
its actually being fixed right now, put a replacement door on it, replacement taillight, and the body guy is pulling the metal back out and making it look like it didnt happen for $600, not painted but ready to paint. I cant really see paying 10k for that car, these parts are pretty expensive and it will add up quick and you would of wished you just got a car for the same price your going to have in that one, but with a clean title
