Dude ... we are in a recession ...
And, possibly, worse. Do a little google-news'ing and check out the stories on the economy.

Seems prices are cheaper from a dealer than a private party these days.

A well modd'ed '08 w/ 13k miles just went for $19.5K on eBay. I've been watching '06-'08 auctions for the last few months. the last previous sale there was a new CR for $27K.

You sound really sad about it all, but you gotta realize some things.

First of all, the price you bought it for wasn't exactly a steal, especially for yellow. Black and white are the ones that cost more than the others most of the time. What I always keep in mind is that when you buy from a dealer it is usually always a little more than it should be, and almost never anywhere near a steal. This may be part of why you're so shocked by the resale difference.

Second of all the economy is basically shit right now, plus it's winter when nobody wants to buy a convertible.

And lastly, I wouldn't give a flying crap what the resale of z3s and boxsters are. I really hope you aren't seriously regretting your purchase of a s2000 just because of the resale price. Cause I don't know about you, but I'll move to Antarctica before you see me in a z3.

Recession and numbers. No one is buying cars, and theirs alot of s2000's on the road now. This is what killed the market.

Well ... hopefully we aren't heading towards another Depression

This question has popped up quite a few times on this board already ... don't have the energy to retype everything again here.

When everything bounces back up, sports cars will be in demand once more.

Also remember there are deep cuts and deals on new cars, and of course, right before the recession got real, GM in it's infinite wisdom dumps two-seaters on the market.

I'd keep it. That's what I'm doing with my off-road toy. And, I'm buying a CPO or new S2K in a few months.

I'll have to agree with this statement, as it has been true in a lot of cases.
