yeah that is truly sad how the S's value is going down, back in the begining of 08 when i got my 06 S from a honda dealer i know i paid a lot for it but on oahu its kinda rare to find a S in very good condition with low miles on it. + i loved the color it had a awesome background with no damages and it was a ap2. i knew i had to get it, after a lot of deal with the $$. i paid far more then i could get it now, but even today its hard to get a clean S. so i felt i had a decent deal and im happy with my S coming to almost a year and still enjoying every minute of it!!

Dealers will always flat out hammer you on trade ins. When I had my GSR the best the dealer could do on a trade in was $5000, I sold it almost a year LATER to an individual for $8800.

2 years ago I couldn't find a 2003 S2000 with 30K miles at a dealership for less than $21K.

Ended up going through an individual and got a 03 with 31K, CPO, AND a OEM hard top for $18K.

I still can't believe Honda kept the S for 2009...

just talked to a dealer who is asking 19,995 for a 2003 with 25K that has been hit in the driver side. rear bumper is a completely different tone of grey, and the bodyshop who painted the car did a really poor job on the respray. the car also has other damage. the internet sales guy even had that balls to say "well, you must not be interested in buying a car". they even had carfax stickers touting it being a 1 owner car, blah, blah blah. im sure if i really looked at it more, i would find lots of things wrong with it.

man, some dealers dont get a clue.

That's what I paid for my S 2 years ago when the economy was flying high, 40k, no accidents, no curb rash, mint example... and I got hosed a bit... what a tool!

like, look at this 2005 s2000 going for 17,500. thats a good deal at a decent price (not sure what exactly ap2 are going for). a clean carfax with only 7300 miles. saturn of modesto is not very bright, the guy even started making excuses about the car saying that the previous owner had to sign a statement about the car not being in an accident before, etc., they dont check the car on trade in, or do a carfax on it. blah blah blah. very disappointing. no wonder 1/4 if not more of the dealers have gone under locally.
