Working on the tranny and engine this winter.

Technique:

Grind it, sand it, sand it with finer and finer. Go from 100 to 200 to 400 to 1000 then buff with polishing wheel and compound to a brilliance. POC. The fins require a narrow buffing wheel and a lot more work to sand.

My biggest mistake is not sanding it enough and then having to resand after polishing and doing it over.

What are you grinding it with? Sorry for being clueless....lol. I don't like to make assumptions on things like this. If I attempt it, I want to do it right.
