it is lit up from behind, so you can read (sort of) the ENGINE START lettering...

I'm guessing Andre wants it go light up something like Rudolph...

Might be cool if it ONLY lit up with the key in the ON position and only until the car was started... with the car running it should NOT be lit...

Seems like a lot of trouble with wiring it and such... I do notice that at night, the start button is only lit as bright as the dash lights, which doesn't really give enough contrast say in a situation where someone new was driving the car...

but then everyone knows about the start button and where it is, right?

Speaking of which, I've always wondered what would happen if I were to push the Start Button while the engine was running. In other cars, turning the ignition in that situation would cause the starter to yelp in pain. In my brief lapses of stupidity, I've actually been tempted to press the button while the engine was running. Has anyone tried doing that? Anyone care to be a guinnea pig?

did it by accident once. does the same thing. of course, for idiots like myself who are in loud parking lots at times and can't hear the engine humming with stock exhaust - there is nothing idiot proof about it. the starter will still grind away and try to grab onto the flywheel and make that hideous, embarrassing noise.

BTW, I've seen adds for an add-on to other cars that replaces the lighter with a start button. I coulda saved $10,000 and bought a civic

Lets just say that your flywheel and starter won't be happy with each other
