I learned in a 1967 Ford Mustang. It was my mother's car.
I decided one night to learn to drive a straight, so I asked her if I could take it out. She said, "Sure." So I did. Learned to do hills in my driveway before I took it out on the road.
The rest is history.

first try was a opel vectra while in germany--but that didn't work, as i had never driven manual before so i went back to the rental counter and got an automatic (mercedes c class if it matters, good upgrade
actually learned how to drive stick in a 2000 Audi S4--i didn't drive very fast

I learned on a combination of a few different cars:
started in my g/f's '00 sunfire
moved onto a '00 sentra spec-v for an afternoon
took a spin in my first s2k
drove my dad's '00 M3 the day he got it
moved on to my '00 celica
just bought my '01 s2k yesterday
