What made you switch to an s2000?
first car was a lowered 91 jetta because that was the best i could afford at 17. then i upgraded to a 97 jetta with a decent amount of mods and threw a stage 2 turbo kit on it, but was still bored with it. then i borrowed my uncles BMW Z4 for a week and decided that was going to be my next car. then after actually doing research, the S2000 came out on top
well i bought my first car which was a 98 stealth r/t which was absolutely amazing! i still remember doing 90 on an offramp to catch the light to make the turn and holding it all the way! and then hurricanes came around water got in my tranny and it was never the same. so i sold it and got a 91 crx hf. did the integra rear disc conversion sway bars and all that. put in a h22 and every bolton that you could imagine till some whore of a illegal alien came and cut me off and i ran into him hard and totalled it. so i bought a 93 del sol si that i put a edelbrock turbo on and was happy as hell for the first year until i decided to put in a gsr swap for more displacement and more potential. by time i was done i realized with the money i spent on that swap i coulda bought a used early year s2k. so i was already enamored by the s2000 from my first test drive in an 03 and i thought that it handled like it was on rails, (compared to frontwheel drive civic models i owned previously and currently) and rwd was just a dream so i bought one just like it and bought tons of parts and couldnt be happier except to be home right now to put the parts on and drive it! but the s2000 was always a dream for me as well as the 3rd gen rx7. just a beautiful piece of machinery even with all of its faults and im sure there are many with both cars but they are both just so raw and beautiful! some day ill get my rx7 and im never selling my s!
well, I used to have an 01 Porsche Boxster S, 6speed manual. Loved having a convertible and loved everything about it. But crashed it in the rain when it fishtailed and was totalled
Since then, I have bought an 2008 Honda Civic Si Sedan for my daily driver, an 2006 Chevy Corvette for my play car, and 2007 Mercedes GL 450 SUV for my family hauler. But I've always wanted a convertible again for those perfect Chicago days lol...
Considered another used porsche boxster S or S2000, but the porsche boxster S was a little more than I wanted to spend, since this would be my 4th car and I wanted to pay for this car in full. Cheapest Boxster S i could find was in the Low $20k's.
I found a 2000 formula red S2000 with 73,000 miles on it for $10,750...took it to a local honda dealer and had used car inspection, and it passed! no real mechanical issues.
I love driving the S. I drive it more than the corvette now lol. The S2000 came with an AEM cold air intake, and I just ordered the HKS Hi-power dual exhaust.
Here are some pics of my rides:

i dont yet own an s2k, but what sold me is the fact that its a drivers car. when i drove the car, everything was just right. the gears were spaced just right, the transmission was the best i've ever driven, the steering wheel, shifter, pedal relationship was just perfect. everything is perfectly placed. the car did exactly what i asked it to do, but what i loved was that i had to ask the car to do it. no traction control and electronic nannies. the car is, in my opnion, the purest form of a sports car you can buy. it transmits everything to the driver. it speaks to the driver...i felt like it was a part of me. like an extension of my hand. i honestly prefer older cars because, again in my opnion, i feel that they retain the purity of the sport. you have to drive them to make them do what you want. not so with so many newer cars. but the s2k has the same refinement as a new car, but retains the purity of the sport, the purity of the driving experience, just like the old cars. this is why i fell in love with the s2k, and this is why i will be buying one as soon as my fund permit
im a die hard honda guy... because of how much aftermarket parts available and jdm goodies that would make yours different from most...
