What made you switch to an s2000?
my first car was a 1994 camaro 3.4 v6 that i rebuilt and put a cam kit with higher ratio rocker arms etc. it was alright, i never ran it at the track but i was expecting a high 15s 1/4 mile. i had that for lil over 3 years and after the first year(before modding) i blew it up, first collapsed lifter and kept driving and bent a pushrod. then i drove my dads 1993 lumina z34 which wasnt bad and drove like 22k miles in a year or so and then switched off to my moms pt cruiser until i got the camaro running again and eventually at the end of may this year i traded the camaro in for a down payment on a 2003 silverstone s2000 with 66k miles for 13,999. best driven car by far, right now im a lil bit over 70k miles.
oh yea and the 2nd week of owning it, i parked infront of my house and the next morning at 7am i walked out to my car to go to school and saw the top was slouching and it was cut pretty bad. at first i thought woah..racoon slice maybe? and then i looked inside and saw the glove box open and my seats, shift knob(new cr shift knob) gone, and i was speechless. also it was pouring raining that whole day so everything got soaked...so after reporting it, i thought i would check the trunk because i had a photoshoot a couple days from that and left my dads nikon d50 camera. found out that they took the camera but the convertible cover they did not take which was in the trunk. the insurance payed for everything and shampooed the carpet, got seats with 23k miles on them and re-dyed the seats, new console, scuff plates, new soft top. so as a fair warning from me and everyone on the board, watch your s2k like a HAWK.
I had a bunch of crappy cars up til now....
91 Cavalier, 87 Escort, 97 Civic, 92 s-10 Blazer, 00 Cherokee, and finally an 01 s2k!
(I still have the Civic and the Jeep)
Honda has treated me pretty good, I've had awesome luck with my Civic so far and everyone knows Honda has a good reliability reputation....so when the s2000 came out I was like, "HELLO!" It's an awesome car and I just fell in love with it. I test drove an 04 Suzuka 3 years ago when I got "serious" about getting one someday......... it was the most amazing fun ever (even though I test drove it top down in December)! I absolutely loved it, but I had other things eating up my money at the time. Since prices have gone down some I realized I could afford an AP1 and I found a great one a few weeks ago

my s is a daily driver that replaced a great 2007 acura tl. after going to a couple of skip barber schools and driving their school car and their rt2000, i started looking for a car that i could drive every day and affordably do track days with. i drove mustangs, 350's, a 370, audi s4's and m3's. on a whim i went and drove an s2000 and realized it was the closest thing to driving the skip barber cars out of everything i had driven. having had an e36 m3 before and not wanting to relive the maintenance nightmares all over i drove a second s2000 and bought it when the dealer came back with full payoff for the tl.
the responsiveness of the suspension and steering, and the ability to drop the top sold me. now i'm getting it ready for the first track day with and i can't wait.

My first car that i actually put blood, sweat and tears into was a 94 del Sol VTEC - the relatively rare del Sol model that came right out of the factory with the venerable B16 powerplant. The Tein suspension, work Emotion CR Kai wheels, I/E, etc all found their way to the car... and then it was stolen and partially stripped.
I restored it back to health and it was then hit in a parking lot, roughly 2 weeks after I had restored it to life. Needless to say, I was tired of it. I welded a new core support on, threw on a mismatched front end, and traded it for a 93 300ZX to a buddy who missed having a Honda.
the Z had I/E and ECU, and was definitely fun. Lots of torque, t-tops, etc... but I had ALWAYS wanted an s2000. Fell in love with the car when it first came out, and grew up a Honda guy. I had the Z and an old beater Mercedes I'd bought off of my dad, and back in may I did some research, found a good deal, and sold the Z and the Benz... the rest is history.

In 2005 me and my husband bought a 1999 GST eclipse spyder in really good shape, paint was perfect (black), interior was tan leather no scratches, we were so excited. Then i left for the Army called home and he said when he was in the freeway and it caught on fire. Insurance paid it off. But it was still heartbreaking.
So then we decieded to get a modded 1996 eclipse, bad mistake DSMs are notorious for engine problems so we eneded up re building the head, then it threw a rod etc we went through that like 3 times it never ran for more than a month. He had always like S2000s and he got me into them. We were stationed at FT lewis WA and we finally found one within 300 miles so we drove up past seattle after i called and made an appointment. We get there and when i saw it i said we were gonna get it no matter what. Well... while waiting for our salesman to get there this 45+ lady obviously in her midlife crisis saw us look at it and told her salesman she wante to test drive it and buy it. I THREW A FIT!!! but our salesman calmed me down and said he would do anything in his power to sell it to us. So while she test drove it he ran my credit. While that was in process she passed but with her teen daughter and she gave me a dirty look and said i cant wait to take this car home, and her daughter said " it that would be funny if we got into an accident on the way home a wrecked it', so i flipped her off. Well needless to say i got approved before her and she had to hand me the keys...HAHAHA.
so now me and my husband are proud owners of a 2000 S2000, sileverstone with red interior. Its his daily driver, my fun on the weekends

was meh over the car when it debuted back in 99, preferred the R integra.
LOVED the refresh Honda gave it as an AP2. Test drove a new one in 06 and considered buying, but figured the STI was better value @ the 30+K price point...which is what i bought back then.
still fawned over the car and picked up a used one earlier this year. love it.
edit: still have the STI and i love the contrast of the two cars...enjoy every second of seat time i get in both vehicles.
