0-60 and 1/4 mile are somewhat misleading for S2000s.
There is the initial "dead zone" of sub-VTEC slowness that take a good chunk of time in the 0-60 and 1/4 mile.
If you don't do stoplight racing and most of your fun is at speeds >30mph, go with the supercharger as you'll always be in VTEC if you want to be.
For those with superchargers, how does the cars acceleration above 30 mph compare to other higher hp cars such as an M3.
Given the ability to keep the car in vtec combined with the low weight of the car, is it quicker than an M3. As a hypothetical say from 30 to 80mph, not from standstill.

O.K.let's get this straight:
a-)-Stock,well driven S2K = 13.7 sec. 1/4 mile.
b-)-With 4.57,again,well driven,and otherwise stock,= 13.2 sec.1/4 mile.
c-)-With 4.57 +I/H/E,=13 sec.flat,1/4 mile.
d-)-With S.C.(at 5-7-p.s.i.)and otherwise stock,=13.10 sec.1/4 mile.
You can extrapolate the rest.!!!(SC+gears+I/H/E,etc...)
A Turbo could be faster, depending,on how many p.s.i.of boost, you run.!!!
Have a good Day.!!!
How in the world can u get a 13.7 1/4 mile Stock. Even the Japanese can barely hit 13.9's.

I wonder the exact same thing.

The compromised highway cruising with gears should really not be an issue. Think of it like this: 400 more rpm's at 75mph is basically 4/10th of what your car normally will idle at. Not significant enough to matter IMO. Just my .02.

(1) most people that talk the increased hwy rpm, etc don't even have them and are talking out of their ass. I have the 4.77, there's not problem with excessive rpm (I cruise at 85mph no problem...5300rpm). I drove the car from Virginiga to Texas and back, without one problem...so there goes the distance argument.
(2) a car with 4.77 can keep up with a SC car to third gear, after that the SC will pull and be gone. I raced dave22 (Vortech SC) and I have bolt-ons with 4.77. I got him off the line but he was with me after vtec and pulled away after 3rd.
That's it...first hand story no "speculation or a friend of a friend" story...

Thanks for your honest input tenblade2001! It's nice to here from someone who not only has first had experience between the two (gears vs. super charger) but also is not afraid to tell it like it is regardless of the out come.

^^Keeping up with is not accelerating faster than. And I am also pretty sure 5.5psi will not give you 300whp. You will need closer to 7psi.
Until now...
