Default What is the max offset before tires start rubbing???

I thinking of buying new rims for my car but afraid of running into problems like I did with my ex-M3. I had 18X8.5 all around and the tires rub everytime I hit a bump or turn hard with passenger(s). I love the deep dish effect in the rear but don't want to just jump into buying the rims and have to change later. I am currently looking at the Racing Hart M5 and the Volk Racing M5. What is the max I can put in the rear?? Will 17 or 18X9 fit??? What size of tires can I get a way with??? Help!!!

The offset determines if it will rub. Try a search on "offset" and you'll find some examples of good fitment.

for the frt an 8" wheel needs ~ET55mm w/ 225's
the rear 9" wheel needs ~ET59mm w/ 255's
9.5" wheel needs ~ET64mm w/ 265's

If you get a couple 5mm more you'll be cool, but any less than the above numbers and you'll be right back in the M3

BTW, you're not going to get the deep dish pan pizza effect, sorry
