Thumbs up What is this plastic thing?

When I got in my car today, I noticed this black piece of plastic laying on the passenger seat. I hadn't noticed the last time I was in the car.

It's a small U-shape black piece of plastic. About 1.5" x 2" x 0.5". Any idea what it could be?

it's the cover for your rear-view mirror, where the stem attaches to the front windshield.

Ah sweet! You guys are awesome

One more question, I put it back and it just kinda snapped into place. Is it supposed to be glued down or anything? I put my parking decal there and remove it every time I have the top down (pretty much every day). I guess that's how the cover got knocked off.

I had to check this. ^^^ You could leave it off and start a weight reduction program.

You aren't the first to find that piece lying around in the car. People have found them under the seat or in a bin after purchasing the car, so it seems like even dealers don't know what it is from time to time.

Mine's missing altogether
