Somebody with heart and patience can make this car nice again but I decided that I wanted to buy something cleaner, never wrecked etc...

IMO, it is the same as a salvage title to me.
there is a big difference... In some states, you can't register a car with a slavage title. You have to go thru a licensed "rebuilder" and have the car inspected THEN you can get the car registered. The process cost about 500$ + the taxes of the car value on top of that.

Yes youre right tho.... both salvage and salvage history title are cars that went thru a major wreck. The thing that sucks is that somne of these titles it doesnt say "rebuilt" on it or "prior salvage" That's why you have carfax.
