They're actually very different cars. I can understand comparing them though. Evaluate what you'll use it for. The RX-8 is more practical. More torque, more low end power, 4 seats (or is it 5?), 4 doors (sort of), and probably a bigger trunk. The S2000 is probably more fun though. Convertible, higher end power, higher redline, smaller car, better handling (correct me if I'm wrong). Granted, I haven't driven an RX-8 yet, but I'm basing that on what's already been stated. Have you driven them both?

I have driven the s2k...and i was very intrigued, i liked the speed and i thought the handling was very nice too. However i havent driven the rx8 yet...but from what i read (reviews) i understand that the rx-8 has nice handling. I've also seen the rx-8's interior in car shows and i must say its very nice. Both these cars have great qualities to them which makes it so hard to choose. Also i've yet to experience a rotary engine, is there much of a difference between the v-tec and the rotary?

Once you have finished that, you should read this.

RX8 seems nice, but this renesis rotary engine is an unknown quantity guys...
Id' rather stick with something that, according to consumer reports, has the best reliability record of any sports car out there, and yes boys and girls, that's our beloved stook.
Cheers,
Daniel

I had a deposit on a Silver RX-8 GT MT, got tired of waiting for it so I took a test drive in my S2000 I fell in love the minute I drove it. Went the next day, got my deposit, bought my baby.

If you can't wait then get the S2000.

I quizzed the local Mazda dealership and here is what I got:
1. first ones to be delivered in mid July
2. Waiting list already 20+ people
3. Not clear on the wait time for #21

I bought in March. I put the order in Jan (wanted one from the
factory). Test drove a 350z and a TT in Feb (no need to pre order - they had like 20 on the lot). Glad i waited.
