I just bought my S from Carmax in Memphis in February...same exact deal, just screwed the damn plate holder right into the bumper.
Really?! I believe the op has a case then. Hearing you say that they just jammed the screw into the bumper makes me want the op to fight this all the way.

Wow, I'm not normally what people would consider nit-picky at all, but this seems outrageous to me! Why would anyone accept a vehicle with holes drilled into the body like that?? I don't care it they'll be covered by another plate or whatever, that's just ridiculous and it looks like shit. Plus it could become an issue for resale. Glad they're taking care of it...just be sure to give it a good, CLOSE look when you see it.

Glad they are doing the right thing!

So are they filling in both sets of holes (the ones they made and the factory ones)? What car are they giving you to drive?

I bought a car out of arizona, i paid the $400 plane ticket, and saw the car in person before i drove it back home to california. it was cheaper than paying some b/s transfer fee. and i got the peace of mind.

Flying out to California was not an option for me due to my work schedule. I searched AutoTrader and CarMax and this car had, by far, the lowest miles in my price range and was in the best (apparent) condition.

Returning the car (or not accepting it) is not really the best choice in my case. While waiting for the vehicle to arrive from Cali and for the title transfer to complete, I had no vehicle of my own (I was bumming/barrowing rides). I really cannot afford to go back to that routine. Secondly, I had already dropped $749 to get the car here, so just ditching it was not logical either.

So... are they gonna fill the OEM mounting holes in addition to the Frankenstein holes? If that's the case then you're going to be ahead in this deal, assuming the work is of good quality.
