Dont waste you money on just the K and N filter though. If youre going to do that, just drive with your intake box open. hehe.
And if you read my first post. The whole point was in jest anyways. So obviously you didn't read before you spoke.

Either way. Good luck with your $100 mod.

( I just LOVE how people are so quick to contribute such positive remarks these days...) Hope you can figure the grammar in this one...

I would go with a testpipe...I got a Berk Technologies testpipe and AUT plate w/ K&N filter and ran ram air. I guarantee I haven't lost any power. (I also insulated the inside of my airbox)

I love how you want to spend $75+ on a filter that will gain you .23 whp. Go take on 911's now.

As for the mild power loss. Yea there is some. But not really to the point that you will actually notice it. And it was also just a suggestion for someone who is looking for a $100 MOD. Instead of dropping $75 for a useless filter that MIGHT gain you a wopping less than a 1/4 of a hp. Take off your cover, drive around, makes some noise, and when you've finished, put it back on. If he's going that route, he should at least find a used AEM intake. I'm not just spitting out false info here. Like I stated, you WILL lose power either way, when it comes to heat soak, so what's the point of spending money on something that gains nothing. If all he wants is sound then there are better suggestions.

If someone is trying to make any power with $100 mod, then by all means. But the airbox was just a suggestion in terms of a "save your money and make the sound anyways." If he really wants power than he should save it for a full fledged intake system.

And do a search. Honda makes a great filter as is. I'd much rather buy a new one every 10k miles, than clean one that may or may not be clean, after you've used it for xx miles, for something that may or may not net you anything. If you wanted power. You would have bought an intake.
i paid 36 bucks for my KN. $76! where did you get that crazy figure. and if you actually read my post, i voted for test pipe.

aftermarked intakes are a waste of $. i have tired 7 different intakes, they all sucked in there own way. AEM, no good its a cai, and i live in Wa state. ARC, lost my low end tq. KN, a copy of AEM. i am making 220+ rwhp WITHOUT and intake, if you beleive that honda makes such great air filters, you would know the the stock s2000 airbox is better overall than any aftermarket intake system.
