What type of S2000 owner are you?
I have always loved Roadsters since..... ever, but I started with a civic, made it fast and then realized it was a better idea to buy a car that is already fast, and found I could afford my dream roadster.
between pimp track and roadster enthusiast... All about the driving experience but less so about it specifically being a convert. Just a simple well setup drivers car that hasn't been spoiled with too much power, too much weight and too damned many drivers aids.
For me it was WRX----Integra type R-----S20000-----986 Boxster S
I'd like to have a Z4M or a 2007 Boxster S next.
While I like some luxury I feel the M Roadster and Boxster S offer tremendous driver feedback and are good old fashioned powerful roadsters that make the driver feel connected to the road.

Civic ---> AP1 S2000 -----> BMW M3 Convertible -----> TL + AP2 S2000 -----> (Future) Mercedes S550 + Lamborghini Gallardo (Both used of course. The Gallardo can already be had for $115k. I'm waiting for it to hit $80k. I'm waiting for the S550 to hit $50k)
Hey Dead-Bird,
I had a new '73 TR-6, what a piece of crap, but I loved it when it was running. Couldn't keep it on the road for more that a month though! Got me into rag tops. Loved the torque in the TR-6, bottomed out at 118 mph, much fun!

I have love and appreciation for all cars.
My path so far:
84 Fiero SE->'86 Fiero GT 3800SC swap->'90 Blazer->'71 240Z Turbo->'92 Legend LS->'05 S2000
My ideal garage would include some built "JDM tuner" cars to include a 240Z, MKIV Supra, and of course S2000. Any would be at home at local car meets, late night highway runs, etc. Its a "scene" car. On the other hand, who wouldnt love to have an Audi S5 as a daily and an R8 for a weekend toy? When you have to pull up to the hottest new club or restaraunt whats a better way to arrive? Track days: A spec Elise or GT3 would fit the bill nicely. Then again who has the $$ for car+tires+fuel+everything else that goes into this hobby including tow vehicles, etc.
I think it all revolves around money. If I had more of it I'd be all of the above. Since I don't I drive the vehicle that does EVERYTHING well, if not any one thing perfect. The Honda S2000 is classy enough to park outside the best restaraunt, "JDM" enough for the local meets, and track worthy enough to merit plenty of good autocrosses and track events. So I don't see a path beyond my S2000 except for a MKIV Supra - which WILL be my next car.

DSM-----S2000. Dsm's are so easy to make extremely fast. I was smoking brand new corvettes in mine, but so many problems constantly and everything is brand new in the car. Since I've had my s2000 it is nothing but pure pleasure(no torque which takes some getting used to but pure pleasure non the less, minus the one bent wheel which is very annoying.
