Default What would you do in my shoes?

Got my new front and rear emblems today, which are sweet.

Unfortunately, the freakin dealer put a couple little dings in my paint at the edge of the emblems. It seems to me if they used a hairdryer and dental floss and a light glue remover, this should not have happened. Service guy said the glue is really strong and that's just what happens when you pull them off. (He also busted one of the old ones taking it off.) I told him I don't buy that.

The new emblems are a bit smaller so it doesn't hide it. I know it's just a couple tiny dings, but I think I'm going to insist that the dealer repaint the entire bumper and put a new emblem on too. I've owned it for 10 days and I want it to look nice. (aside from that pebble crack I already got on the d@mn windshield.)...

Any thoughts?

even if they use a screw driver to pry it out... they should have covered it with a towel... that shouldn't make any dent like that...
insist on getting the hood repainted... it's BS... if you can do a job better than them... they don't deserved to be paid....

My buddy says, that it's possible that the repaint won't match right or might be painted at a slightly different angle with the metallic flakes, etc. My dealer doesn't have a paint shop on the premises, so they'll have to shop it out. I really want it to be painted again perfectly, but maybe I should put some black pin-striping around it and call it a day, so I don't end up with a slightly "off" painted bumper where they're telling me "it looks fine to us"

...confused and pissed...

They should pay to have it airbrushed. That should make it look better. I would try this before having the bumper repainted. See if they'll give you something to compensate for your troubles such as free oil changes. Either that or refund the cost of the emblems.

Airbrush? Really? Will that blend? What about the clearcoat factor?

This is how I feel:

Anyone know a good paint/body shop in the san fernando valley? I'd like to get an opinion on this.

i believe you can airbrush the clearcoat on as well as the new paint...

i think i remembered seeing that Rick had done this at one point... you might want to draw his attention to this thread.... he may have some helpful information.

Dave -

Suck to hear/see the damage...

I'd make some noise to the dealer...

Threaten to go to the BBB and report their ass...

Ummm...why did you even take it to the dealer just to install new badges?
