I think any year would be a great choice. The 00 owners are going to tell you the 00 is the best. The 01's are going to say the 01 and so on...... So go find any year you can with good mileage and in good shape, put down the coin and let the smile grow on your face!

MY00 is the best, but only if its in Silverstone with black leather.

j/k

Get a MY02 or MY03 they seem to be the best all around.

You get the updated ECU and glass rear window. Only disadvantage i can see is a bit softer suspension, but to me that would just be a little nicer for daily driving.

Any year of the 1st generation (MY '00-'03) should be fine so long as the TSB's are done on the pre '02 models. If glass is important then '02-'03. If you can get a screaming deal on an '00-'01, you can always retrofit with a new glass top.

how do you figure?
Different spring rates / shock valving and sway bar setup in an attempt to take away some of the pre 02 cars snap oversteer tendencies.

At the end of the day they are all S2000's and there isn't a bad year out there.

As long as it is an S2000 buy it, do not discriminate against model year or mileage. Just get one!
