Default What is it that you use...

What is it that you use to take the top coating off of the metal on the AP1 consoles so that they look shiny? The coating is chipped in a few places and I just want a temporary fix to make it look better.

Are you talking about the silvery material around the shifter?

Alcohol will remove it.

Yes. Just regular alcohol? I thought that was what you used, but before I started messing with it I wanted to confirm.

Yes, isopropyl alcohol and some q-tips or cotton balls. Simple and easy. It can take a few passes to get all the residue off, but you will be left with a nice and shiny black surround.
