All i know is that,

AP1 = MY00-MY03
AP2 = MY04-MY05+

IMO, i like the AP1 more, but there are things on the AP2 i like also.

No, No, No, and oh yeah, NO!

AP is Accounts Payable or Advanced Phyics. Nothing to do with S2000s.

AP1 is the CHASSIS design of the '00-'03 S2000s.
AP2 is the Chassis code for '04+ S2000s.

It does NOT denote the engine in the car. In the North American market the '04+ S2000s the F22C motor which is 2.2L and has an 8200RPM redline. However, in Europe and Asia the '04+ cars kept the 2.0L F20C motor that Revs to 9100RPM.

There were minor "tweaks" to the chassis for '04+. I don't know all of the specifics off the top of my head, but likely relate to the smaller sway bar, and larger wheels and tires.

The search function would be most helpful as this topic has been discussed ad nauseum.
