Well I payed top dollar for my new 2003 silverstone with less than 6,000 miles on it just last fall. 59xx miles now, bought from a dealer, car was purchased as an investment by first owner and rarely driven. It was certified by the dealer and now has 12month bumper to bumper, drivetrain until the middle of 2010. I just like the S2000, this was the first one I ever drove and I looked at many things on the internet before buying this one. I saw it as a new 2003 for a lot less than a 2009. I like the looks of the 03 better too!
You just have to decide what it is worth to you! With a hard top and 6k miles, I would have to say well bought at 17k or less. Just my opinion. Look at what a new one would cost you plus insurance.

If its in really good condition i would pay over 14k for it as it comes with the hardtop as well. Just for further comparison I paid 18,000$ for a 2002 with 18xxxmiles almost 2 years ago. The car was absolutely flawless though and only driven top down on sunny days. As weird as it seems though, a 2002 is getting to be a bit older car now.

wow does that make me want to cry, poor S2ks are gonna be affordable to every ricer and wanna-be professional race car driver. More accidents and more horrific visual experiences to come!

yeah, i guess a lot of us are doing this now...

fortunate for me i just took over the car payments from a co-worker. it wasn't quite dirt cheap but at least it was discounted well at the time that it was bought. i don't even want to know what the price right now would actually be...

17k is too much. Hardtop or not. 15k seems about right. The value of this car has plummeted along with the economy and especially since it is winter now. 15k would be a good price I think. if you wanted to sell the hardtop you could get $2000 for that so the car would then be 13k which is a pretty good deal for only 6k miles.
Paying 17k for an '00 with 21k miles that someone else said they got is a horrible deal these days. Should have been like 12-13k for it. Also sometimes that low miles means it was a dealer test car or something and just never got used much. Which could mean it got raped right from the beginning but you never know.

Hate to say this, but the value on this car is just not anywhere what it used to be. I'm still stunned at the prices used S2K's are going for. It's sad really. Had they stopped making it a few years sooner, it would be better, but you can buy an 06-07 with less then 10k miles for less then 20k easily, eben from a dealership, so it doesn't have the market value it should have. Too many of them now.

However, you never know. with that low of miles and a hardtop, the right buyer may come along, and give you what you want for it. Good luck!!!
