Default Wheel lock key for $ 100

Well I lost my wheel lock key some how, and they told me it would cost me $100. Does it really cost that much for the key?
If anyone knows where I can find one for a cheaper price please post.

Thanks!

That is an astonishing price for one key. I don't know if this price is normal or not but when I bought 4 aftermarket wheels, I got the 16 lug nuts (4 of them being key coded and the rest still needing a special wrench adapter) for about 50 bucks. I suggest trying at another dealer or find out who the maker of the wheel lock is (Honda must get them from somebody) and ask at the source. Perhaps even go to a wheel/hubcap store and ask them.

Just take those off and get a new set of wheel locks for $30 or whatever they cost. The dealer or a tire shop has some tools that can take them off regardless if you have the key or not I believe.

yup, that is what I did. My dumb ass dealer didn't give me the key with the car so I brought it back they took off the old locks and gave me a new set. IT is true that a key will cost 100US or 160 Cdn, just better to strip them off and get a new set for 35US

If they're McGard wheel locks, I think a new "key" is like $10.00. You should have a McGard card that has the key no. You just contact McGard at their 800 phone number, give them the key no. and they'll send you a new key. You just as well get two, one to store in the car, and another to put in your garage tool box.

I lost the card once but had an extra lug lock nut. I sent McGard the lug nut and they sent me a new key. You could also go to a few dealers and find out who there wheel guys are. The "wheel guys" usually have a box of extra keys laying around that you can try and fit to your's by trial and error. Don't ask me how I know this, but it worked for me once.
