When did you lose your virginity?
I first saw and heard of the STOOK on TV in Spring of '99. I was so amaze and impressed. So it was love at first sight. 5 months later I began to shop for the car at the local Honda dealership. I got the car in Nov '99 which is a week after I saw it in live in person.
The first sighting was in S. cal when they took a Silver/Red out onto PCH for a photo opportunity. There were press people around, but I git a glimpse. Since I ordered in Nov '98, and was 1st in line at my dealershop, I knew one would be mine.
The first real look was Oct 99 when my car came in along w/ a blk/blk. I test drove the Black/Black for about 30 minutes and decided to let the dealer sell "my car" at higher than invoice in return for some "free servicing". I turned around and bought my Silver/Blk and drove it down from Oregon. Life has been great since!

In october my wife (then girlfriend) and I were coming down 280 from san francisco headed towards san jose, after I had proposed when I popped the other question. "honey, have you ever heard of the Honda 2000? Ten minutes later we were at (Menlo Honda) which had 2 silver s2000s sitting outside thier dealership (later I found out that 1 was owners, the other finance).It was really cold that day, windy,and raining cats and dogs.So naturally I spent the next 30 minutes looking at the 2 silver ones in the parking lot before my new fiancee (by then soaked! god bless her)said "there's another one.. INSIDE!"
I walked into the dealership and was stunned. A black and red s2000 sat there with a little rope around it.. top down, doors,hood,and trunk open. I know there are a lot of silver lovers here, and red (greg stevens) but I was blown away by this combo. IMHO the most exotic of the choices.(;
My wife looked at me in her knowing way, smiled wryly, and that was it. I lost my virginity. They put a little sign on the dash saying reserved for mr......
I love this car! It has so much character, and get's more stares then my 56 bright yellow 356 speedster! People still move out of my way from a 1/4 mile behind on the freeway because of the colors and shape. ARRGhhh!!!! I need to go drive a little now. BYE!

The one I bought!!! Rahvis, when did you see the black on black at Schauburg Honda?
Was it around April or May of 2000? If so, they weren't letting anyone sit in it because I requested for it. I got the first black on black that came through Schaumburg Honda, I believe there have only been three so far.
I had sold so many cars for Schaumburg Honda that they were going to give me credit on the next Prelude I was going to buy (because I wasn't actually an employee of Honda, I just referred everybody and their momma to them). However, when the girlfriend stepped up her decision from a Prelude to an S2K, I wanted the credit to be applied to it.
They refused initially, and then I won them over by citing over 50 names of people that bought various Hondas from them in the current and the one previous month after I referred them and acted as a salesperson on the lot.
In any case, the first one I saw in person, I bought.

I'm not sure if I remember the first one I saw in person. I followed the car from the earliest prototypes so I felt that I knew the car very well.
I do remember my first drive. It was early October 1999. It was a red/black at a dealer in Rockford, IL. I went out, drove the snot out of the car for approx. 20 minutes. Signed the paperwork and placed a deposit for a blk/blk. Needless to say I found a cheaper blk/blk and became an owner on 12/1/99.

My friend does advertising and marketing for several Cincinnati auto dealers and is the owner of the local "Toys for Adults Show". In late September 1999, he was putting on a promo at the local Honda dealer and had a Honda powered Indy car on display. I attended to see the race car and it was pouring rain, therefore not many people around. The dealer also had a triple black S2K on display. It looked Ok but it really didn't grab me. Gary introduced me to the dealer who said he was only getting 10, but agreed to put me on the list due to my chairmanship of the Concours de' Elegance(another long story). Then in the first week of November 1999, I attended Gary's Toy Show and there was a silver/red on display and I then knew I really wanted this car. Two weeks later, the dealer called and said he had a silver/red that the buyer could not settle for until spring and that he would switch places with me on the list. I picked it up that night. Never one moment of regret, especially after I drove it home(my first drive in a S2K).
First one I saw...live and in person...was at $10,000 over list and she was USED! First Texas Honda, Austin (where else), Texas, Nov 1999. Needless to say, didn't buy her, but she prompted a serious (and succcessful) search.
