Is it 5.5k? I've only gone up to 6k (!!!) SO FAR on my car THREE TIMES and it seems to me vtec kicked in at 5.5k before I shut it off at 6k...

 

Are you done breaking it in?
If you are, then what the heck is wrong with you?
Rev it up to 9000 or at the very least 8000 on 1st or 2nd and you will feel it.
Don't let an obvious answer spoil your vtec experience.

 

you are right it is 5.5rpm.
but when i had vtec controller in....i saw that the stock tach is off by one hundred....so it kicks in at 5500 but on my tach when it reaches 5600.....i luv it when i run some1 and take it to redline and it flickers* hehe.

 

i thought it was 6200 rpm? well only one way to find out now.....

I heard before that the factory sets it at 5850???

 

The red area at the top of the tach flashes if you go past 8900 or so. It's not something you generally try to do.
