when is an s2000 too old?
This is for all you guys that have owned their S's for a while. When does the S2000 get too old? When saying this I mean at what age or mileage does the s2000 start to loose some of it's power? The reason behind this is I bough mine with est. 50,000 miles on it and it now has 58,000 on it. I wonder if it's running to it's potential or if she is just too old to run at what she is supposed to. Is there some kind of test I can do ( I know that sounds dumb, but I was just wondering) Also are there any suggestions you gus could give me to help, if in deed there is something wrong.
i just hit 60,000 miles last week, and it still runs great. the best thing is to keep up on all the general maintanence, like fluids and filters, plugs, etc. I run royal purple 10w30 oil and my car loves it. and its still all stock. just take care of her and she will take care of you.
My car is at 76k KM or about 47k miles. My car is just as strong as the day I bought it.
You could have a compression test done on your engine, that's one way to make sure that things are up to snuff or put it on a dyno, anywhere from 195 to 205 hp I think is the norm.
