Also, Whence is more as to the origin of a thing...Websters demonstrates as follows: whence [adv] : from what place or origin or source; From where; from what place: Whence came this traveler? From what origin or source: Whence comes this splendid feast?

Remember...wherefore means WHY not where...this is a similar cross-structure of old-English.
