I tried to search myself, to post a link as a reply. But all the old threads with photos of vin locations seem to have dead photo links. Gave up trying. There is probably an answer out there already, but I can't blame OP for asking, since its not easy to find.

Good information.

Note there are dozens of references at that site including a digital copy of the 1970-page Honda Service Manual (without the bikini model on the cover). The printed manual has no index making the searchable version extremely handy.
