Four posts above yours there is a thread titled "Wrecked my 2000 S2000 ap1 " where the guy is selling his ap1 motor. Might want to shoot him a message.

Thanks man! Unfortunately the only one they have is a complete motor and transmission set-up for $3,999. All I really need is a long-block now that I think about it, I should be able to just transfer all of my accessories from my current motor to the new one.

Also, quick question for you guys: I've been thinking about dropping in an '04-05 F22. Now I know that it's pretty much plug and play except for shaving a little bit of the fuel rail but my question is this - will I be able to safely rev to 9,000rpm in the F22 without any tuning, etc.?
Wow, there are replacement motors and transmissions for only $3,999? My DD car's replacement motor is $28k.

$4k is steep?

$4k is steep for me, I'm probably not as financially well off as you are . I'm using up the money that I was gonna' use to pay for school next semester to fund this motor. I'm only 20 and unfortunately I lost my job in April so funds are extremely limited and $4k is a LOT to me at this point .

Actually seeing as how you own an E90 M3, I know I'm not as financially well off as you. lol Nice car man

Wow, that's 10k more than a LS7. Even a built one is under $22k.

So I've been looking around for motors, jobs, and recently F.I. and I have a question ask you guys; What kind of cars would I be keeping up with or beating with a Comptech supercharger at stock boost?

My DD is an E90 M3. It's a bit more pricey. I was just shocked at how little a motor costs for the S2k.

The irony of this of course is that unless the car is near new, you never put a new motor in the BMW. You just scrap it. In 4 years the car isn't even worth $28K.

Alright guys, I got my new motor and the car should be running again by Saturday at the latest. I found 54,000 mile motor in Phoenix and bought it for $1,500 dollars, talk about a steal. It should arrive at my mechanic's door step and at that point all he has to do is switch all the accessories from the old motor to the new one and drop it in so I think 3 days is adequate time for him to do that.
