If anyone want to groupbuy with me then I can get a lowered price

Unfortunately, he asked me to make a full payment before pick up. I was like OMG, not another scam!!!!


I offered 50% deposit and the retailer still insist on full payment prior to pick up. Is this normal practice in USA?

It depends on the company. Some places consider some items as special order and they want the full payment. Basically, they don't want to be stuck with it. I for one hate paying for something upfront. I have no problem with a deposit that is no more then 50%. My feeling is that if I don't pick it up, they have the merchandise and 50% of what they could sell it for. If need be, they cut the price they sell it for in half, take my half and they break even. Unfortunately, most places don't see it this way.

Thank you for your help everone.

Unfortunately, I had a call this AM from my friend
He will be in Seattle for very short period and wont have time to drop by Brad's auto to pick up the S/C

I guess I have to abolished this plan. Damn...it got me all excited for the past 2 weeks! Oh well I will have to wait for next time....may be for the new Comptech kit Version 2.
