Just wondering where everyone mounts their aftermarket CD Changers and why do they mount it in that particular position?

Does anyone actually mount an aftermarket CD Changer in place of the OEM Changer in the original spot?

Yep, I did!



The Sony changer is about 5mm wider so I had to do some grinding and welding but it now fits fine. Last week I upgraded to the new MP3 changer. Fortunately it is the same size so it fitted straight in.

Mind you this the the MY2000 stock position. The 2001 has the changer in the secret compartment. I guess the smaller SOny changers would fit there as they are known to be the smallest 6 disc changers made.

 

This is what one guy did, and I love this set-up.. Currently mine is in the trunk but when I put in subs I will move to theis location.

 

I mounted it in the secret compartment.

BTW -- is that the 12-disk Alpine changer? I just bought one and I'm wondering if it will fit there for me as well...

 

Damn i am thinking the same at the moment, but those pics arent showing. Where is the secret compartment? or is it secret? LOL
