Default Where are you shifting at?

Forgive the "newbie-ness" of this question - but with such a high redline and what seems to be pretty close gears, I was wondering where the typical RPM line is that I would normally shift at in normal street driving. From just the 1 day I've had the car so far, it feels like around 4K RPMs is about right but a more solid figure would be helpful. Thanks!

There are varying degrees of "normal". Depending on what you are trying to do in any given circumstance, your shift rpm will be slightly different. If you are just motoring along sedately, maybe 3000 rpm will do. If you are trying to clear the intersection more efficiently, you might want to go a little higher, maybe 4500 - 5000. If you are going downhill in a sedate manner, you might even shift at 2500. If you are trying to negotiate a long hill, you might want to wait till you get to 5000 so you don't put too much load on the engine.
No single answer is the correct one and you shouldn't try to go by a given number. For daily driving, you should learn to drive by "ear". There is no need to gawk at your tach every time you change gears. Your eyes are best kept UP and looking for stuff you might run into or what might run into you.

3-4K in traffic

4-5K "normal" driving

5-8K more spirited

If your car is new remember the guidlines to break it in.

is it safe to cruise at lets say 60 KM per hour in second gear when your rps are very high for an extended period of time like is it safe for me to keep my rpms at 6.5-7k for a long ass time???

No rpms above 5K, no full throttle acceleration for (I think) 800 miles. I abbreviated my break in somewhat. Do a search, everyone has an opinion on how or if the car needs a special break in procedure.
