And what are those exactly? No red line is I'm sure one of them...what else?
This statement makes me think you have not read your owner's manual. I strongly suggest you do so. Many of the questions that you will come up with will be answered in there.

is it safe to cruise at lets say 60 KM per hour in second gear when your rps are very high for an extended period of time like is it safe for me to keep my rpms at 6.5-7k for a long ass time???
Yes, it's safe. Loud, burns a lot of fuel, but safe.

These "when do you shift" threads are always stupid. I shift when I think it is time to shift, that's all.

Is it raining? Are you going uphill? Does it look like you might need to accelerate soon? Is traffic heavy or light? Are you really driving the car, or just trying to get to the store? All these things affect your choice of gear selection.

Driving styles are going to vary from DRIVER TO DRIVER. The best advice was given before, you have to spend time with your S to see whats best going to suit your driving style! Its a car that requires time to learn and Im confident that you will learn when the best time to shift for what ever condition your in. Hills, downhill, racing, lane changes etc. are examples. Just make sure when that 350Z is on the side of you your at 6k and above!

below 4 but 3 or above seems to be best, and saves most gas for me.
