Does this post have a point?

I'm glad to hear the S is better at autocross than the Miata or Z3... who woulda thunk it?

Also, how do you confuse front engine with front wheel drive?! I don't think you're going to hear many people defending FWD in serious car conversations...

BTW, I would almost pick the S2000 over a 911 just because the engine sits in the right place.

Yes! don't you want to hear someone tell the truth how he or she feels about S2000?
I am an outsider, at least I am not a ditto head and has an independent assessment of the S2000.

Quite a rude response, I must say.

Details please. Hope there was no permanent damage, but that's funny as hell.

What the hell is wrong with you people some times?

A guy comes on with a differant sort of car, and shares his opinions on his experience with an S2000, and mostly good at that, and he has to be berrated about it?

I know winters coming, but please leave this shit behind

Well, I'm sure lots of people has preference between front wheel cars vs rear wheel drive cars.

I DON'T LIKE FRONT WHEEL CARS PERIOD!!
Hi Lotus,

You seem to be mentioning Front Wheel Drive in this statement. I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume that you know that the S2000 is Rear wheel drive, and that you meant to say "you don't like Front Engined cars"

That's cool, I've had a pair of MR2s and I appreciate the nimble feel of a mid engined car. Both of these did not get close to a 50/50 weight distribution and the S2000 is near spot on. I think because of this, it is more predictable at the limit without sacrificing quick turn in response.

I'm guessing that you drove a 2.0 S2000 and not the newer 2.2 (US only 2004+). Those cars cold really shine on an autocross if the track layout kept you at 6000 RPM in 1st or higher. Depending on the track you drove, it could have "bogged" if the track was especially tight. Of course, the pundits would say that you needed to carry your speed through the turn more..... all without seeing the track or your driving.

Welcome to the board, you sure know how to make an entrance!

What's with all the hate? Jealous of his Esprit?

I think it's great that someone who can afford much more expensive cars (like an Esprit) actually like the S2000...goes to show how well Honda engineered it! Sure, lack of low-end torque can be a pain, but once you learn to get around that, the car becomes very rewarding!!!

Old friend of mine has a late '80s Esprit...the Bi-Turbo four cylinder with 280hp.....thing is pretty damn fun!!!
