I have a 07' with 5000 miles on it. Yesterday I noticed that there is a very subtle
whining noise coming from the gear box (I think) only in the 2nd 3rd and 4th gears when accelerating hard.
It does not happen when the car is cold either. I need to drive it for 10-15 minutes from a cold start, stop the engine, start and drive it again and then I can hear the noise. Any ideas?

i'm pretty sure i have a whine coming from somewhere, i'm not too worried about it.

 

^ the flywheel. My 01 did that and it did nothing to the car performance wise. No problem, just a whine...

 

This might sound stupid but are you sure it isn't the fanbelt? My friend had a similar problem a few weeks ago and I was surprised, but it was his fanbelt.

I also have a 2007 S2000 with ~4700 miles.

Just yesterday i noticed a kinda whining noise like a rsupercharger spooling. but really light.


I hope my motor does not blow up.

I have been giving the s2000 a daily dose of VTeC!

 

Probably we both are talking about the same noise. Yes it is barely audiable. Need to shut down the radio and the fan to hear it.
I dont think it is coming from the engine. So dont worry it wont blow up In this part of the world we get AP1 with f20c. Yours is AP2, I assume.

i have 2000 model with 110k kms n i have a light noise coming from the gear box and i can hear it on any gear even with a clutch on and it appears from speed 20kms/h as on and off noise and becomes solide after 45km/h any ideas wil be appreciated
