Default Whistling noise

I've been an owner for over two year now, but have always had this whistling problem from the engine. At pretty much spot on 3000 revs I hear a whistling noise from the engine, which then disappears as the car passes 3k revs. Had it in at the Honda garage who can easily recreate, but have failed to fix. Anybody had a similar problem or know if there's inherent problem or if a recall note exists?

Wreck:

If it is a slight "reed" type whistle that will go away with a little more throttle and go away with a little less throttle, it is normal. Every S2000 that I have driven has it.

Yeah mine does the same thing, I actually know the throttle position to make it happen.

It's a cool sound, but I didn't notice it until two years after I bought the car.

Hey, I get a similar sound, only, its different on mine...

I get this whistling sound only when I'm going really fast, like redlining range...

Tonight I've noticed my car has started to whistle under full throttle past about 4k rpm up until just before redline. Could it be because of the cold weather? It was about 40-45F tonight. This is (so far) the coldest temp that I've driven in my s2k in. Is anything wrong with my baby? Could it be the air box? The temperature outside?

We all know that the car makes this whistle sound, but does anyone know exactly what it is?

i believe its the air control pump something or other for emissions control. Take the lid off your stock airbox and then start the car...that whistle (different from the one your describing) sounds like a mini S/C!!
