www.i-club.com has set up their "For Sale" section just the very same way. Sponsors have their own forum, private sales have another forum, and group buys have yet another forum.

hmm... i don't mind at all seeing our sponcers' posts about their current and future products/ plans/ idea on "s2k talk" forums and such,

i do feel uncomfortable, however, by some of their posts on GB section, especially when 5+ posts about products from the same sponcer are always sitting on the top of the page, pushing all the valuable wtb/ fs posts by individual members.

I have said it before and don't mind saying it again. There are only 2 advertising tactics that really annoy me:

1) flashing / animated graphics and banners - they are very distracting when you just try to focus to read the posts.

2) spam posts / threads in the Group Buy and For Sales Forum - I am tired of scrolling and sorting through a monitor full of threads that are "top" daily by the original poster, even when there's nothing new or meaningful to add to the content. There is nothing wrong w/ advertising your products, but please do so w/ courtesy - like at least consolidate all the products in one thread if you were to bring it up again and again and...

Please don't turn this into the Time Square of talk forum.

I personally have never been offended by the content of / number of posts advertising products. I kindof like having new products and special deals announced so that I don't have to go looking for them. I do aree that it might be best to limit them to the "group buy and for sale" forum. In any case, keep up the good work sponsors. I am thrilled by the quantity and quality of products available for our cars.

The reason we have to do this is because of the gazillion threads about muz products. They are great products, but Rick is right, there should be a forum for Sponsor related selling and PRIVATE member selling. Oh, and thanks for reminding me to bring my for sale thread to the top again

Some of it bothers me, maybe this should be a poll so that people can answer anonymously.

Rick
I agree with you 100%
The fastest way to destroy a good site or a good club is to develop member apathy and boredom.
Your idea for a Vendor and Group Buy Site and a Member For Sale Site is right on the spot.
