With a few exceptions I don't have a problem with the way it is now. I voted FOR a new forum because I think it will be more convenient for members.

NO MORE FLASHING BANNERS!!!

You're definitely not the only one...

Saliv8, did you notice that everyone else was trying very hard NOT to name a certain sponsor? I think singling Muz out sucked...

As I have also mentioned in to "Those who have ultimate say here" that I would also like to see all paying vendors have the word "Vendor, " "Advertisor" or some such replace their gear rating, much like mine says "Community Organizer."

Although most of the sr. members know who these people are the newbies may not. I suggest this move not only to recognize the people who support the site but to protect the users who should probably know when an opinion could possibly be a bit biased.

This might also go some distance towards clearing up one big issue I remember that Bieg had way back when. In my opinion there's a huge difference between the opinions of a person who purchases a company's product and one that is selling the product.

On a side note, I don't want to name names (or companies) but I have seen far too many posts from a particular vendor in many threads saying in effect, "I have that product in stock for $xxx.xxx if you want," when someone is asking for opinions on a product. It adds nothing to the discussion and many times only serves to draw responses away from the topic at hand.

I have never noticed it to be an issue.
I'm driving my mouse and I can go on to the next thread very easily.

Gregg.. you did mention the "vendor" idea.. a couple of folks responded, but not all. I think it is a good idea. However, the vendors should may be asked first.
I will look into it..

I like to see the hype and see what you all have to say. It doesn't bother me one bit...

What does bother me is saying that you are working on something 5 months ago and not giving out and new details

hint hint...roll bar...

I think they're totally appropriate when in the Group Buys and For Sale forum.

If you'd rather not see them, don't visit that forum or put the user posts that bother you on your kill list.

If this were happening in other forums, I'd see it as a problem. But since most of the ad's you're referring to are in the group buys and for sale forum, I really don't see any problem at all.

Why not have a forum specifically for promotion by sponsors... I'd check it out now and then to see what they have to offer/say

I'm not bothered by the sponsor's posts, on the contrary I find it interesting to see what's going on with new products and mod ideas. Most of the time it may not be for me, but it's still fun to see new ideas. Announcements and discussions are fine, but perhaps when a product has been around for a while it could be relegated to a "for sale" forum.
