Default Who aligns while in car?

How many people here sit in the car while it is being aligned? Anyone know how much specs change with or without person in car?

This is REALLY funny because I was wondering the same thing yesterday. I haven't done it but I know at least some people swear by it.

I just called tirerack and they said, no. However, when I worked for BMW, I saw and spoke with techs who had to load up the car with weights (to simulate driver weight) to align it (per BMW specs).
The tirerack guy said the car is jacked-up so no weight in on the wheels. Is that true? Cars that I have seen on an alignment rack do not look jack-up.

Depends on the alignment rack and/or the shop who does the alignment..

My local shop, has an extremely awesome setup, and yes, I have my alignments performed with simulated weight in the drivers seat and floorboard

i used to, but now that i do my own alignments, i do not. i have the car on the rack a minimum of 5x a year, so ultimately i change settings based on what needs to be changed from the previous alignment, so my weight does not matter.
