got a pm with this question:

<<how does the amber light look with the smoked diffusers? I am leaning towards getting the smoked JDM version because it would look great on the Suzuka. Orange and blue just dont go together IMO.

-----

i left the clear bulbs in... so i dont have amber in smoked- but the clear bulb in the smoked lens gives sorta amber look- just barely!

and mine are usdms

The diffusers look good. I also love your wheels. Those are exactly the type I want to get. They are pretty sweet.

Easy to do with some common sense. I did find, however, that Rick's directions aren't perfect. A wet cloth will cause a lot of condensation in the oven. I eliminated this by insulating with paper.

Paper is a MUST if you plan on painting, which, as I figure, is pretty much worth it on all but black cars.

I'd be strooooooongly tempted to suggest someone *not* add paper into the equation of an oven . Granted, it worked fine for you. But the slightest shift & lack of attention, and ya'd have a titch of a fire going on in there. I *do* agree about the wet towel / condensation issue with those instructions however. I myself lay a Corian cutting board along the bottom rack that I'll be setting the headlamp on [headlamp positioned upright]. But if the intention of the paper suggestion is as I expect simply to keep from having the oven rack "griddle" the black base of the headlamp, then I would suggest even something as simple as an upside-down metal cookie sheet or such.

Just a suggestion...

Paper burns at 451 degrees. If you've got your oven up that high, you've got bigger problems with the headlight than a contained fire.

This can be done if you read and follow the directions. It is easier if you have a buddy help you.
