Thumbs up Who has experience with Engine Management Systems?

I am wondering who has installed these 2 different management sytems on there s2000's. Especially those who are running Comptech SC. The Greddy is 25% the price of the AEM "stand alone" unit but I not sure I understand the benefits of spending the extra coin. Someone please educate me on this!! I am looking to prevent future fuel management issues (running too lean) and to make efficient use of the ignition and vtec timing. Help.

I am about to install an E manage next month along with a high boost pulley. From my research basically I cam e to the conclusion that noting beats a stand alone like the AEM but the Emanage is a nice median between that and the VAFC.

I guess its a good value. Might switch to AEM eventually.

E-manage actually can cost more than the AEM IF you get the injector and ingition harnesses, support tool, boost controller, and a WBO2. I just ordered an AEM with built in WBO2 for $1600.

The AEM is the better unit, especially if you are considering larger injectors. I think some people have gotten 440's to work with emanage. The Emanage cannot operate outside of the parameter limits of the oem computer only adjust and change within those parameters.

On the other hand, the AEM is not OBDII compatible if you are in a state with vehilcle inspection.

my thoughts anyway

I built my own custom piggy-back, so I am totally familiar with their draw-backs. If you are FI, there is no doubt that the EMS is the better choice. If you are spending $5K on FI to upgrade a $30K car, why not spend an extra $1K for many times better tuning and safety?

I don't know how many states require OBDII capability (not just emissions testing), but it is a valid concern. However, if it were me, I would go with the EMS, and just swap the OEM ECU back in for a couple days each year (without driving it hard).

I don't have a standalone on my S2000 (I have an LS6 swap, actually ), but I use MoTeC on my Baby Grand (Yamaha 1200), and my dad runs the FAST system on his Nissan.

My preference will always be MoTeC. You can rig it to open your garage (we've done it), it has a great, logical 3D user interface, with full adaptability. The plug-n-play capabilities are great also - data-loggers, gauge clusters, etc.
