No problems on mine after 1300 miles...I guess I will keep a close watch on her to see if Honda has actually fixed this problem or not.

Mine grinds all the time, but especially when its being driven and it hasn't warmed up completely. Happens in all gears and most notably from 1 to 2.

What do we tell the dealer?

If you can't hear it over the engine sound at 8000 rpm, it's not a grind, just sychro vibration. Cold box klunking is not grinding.

Actually, the grinding seems to be more prevalent after I have been driving on the freeway. During normal street driving grinding doesn't seem to be an issue no matter what rpm I shift at. Only after driving on the freeway for an extended period of time, it grinds. This occurs during the day and at night regardless of the outside temps. I am wondering if a simple tranny cooler/radiator would help out the situation any.

I've taken my other cars to Sierra Honda and they have done a good job in the past. But I have had problems getting anything done via warranty through them. Luckily, I have a connection at another dealership in Torrance who usually does all the warranty work on my car with no questions asked. It's just that I don't want to have to be without my car for a week which is why I haven't brought it in.

I still have quite a ways to go with my warranty time so I'll just wait to see if it gets better on its own or if it gets worse.

I have an '01 and my grinding problems have been well documented on this board...lol (I've been bitchy about it). My problem with it is that I've never ground any other shift except the 1-2. Sometimes it seems as if I can't get it to grind, other times it seems my clutch foot is on the floor forever and I still get it to grind. Could be temp, but I've not noticed any correlation. Sure I've ground it in driver error, but moreover it's a design flaw plain and simple. At 30,000 miles I'll take it to the dealer and get it all replaced, then I'll turn it in on it's lease and get a new one with the "new improved shift action" '04 .

I have a 2001. I have not experienced the 1-2 grind. Number 3 is the gear I have to baby. It's a hit and miss thing. One time it's smooth as butter and I think, ah - it's finally getting broken in; only, to be reminded it's not. It's damn iriating in my opinion for a car of this nature to have to wait for the transmission and drivetrain to align and to gently and cautiously position the shift lever in 3rd. I've been driving stick-shift sportscar since BEFORE Honda came out with their FIRST S car, so don't tell me it is a driver problem. Maybe it's just the feel of the triple syncro's but I doubt it, since I don't have any issue with 2nd gear.
