Who says the Irish are lucky!! :(
I can sort of laugh at this now.....unless I look at the two major dings on my hood and my banged up bumper on my '02 Maxima!!! Long story, but entertainingly tragic!! (not really...perspectively speaking!!)
So, I bought an S2K. I've been waiting for about 3 weeks for it to arrive in San Diego, it seemed like a year!!! The weather is a hot 80-90 degrees......it's an '01 from Auotrader.com, I had it shipped from Massachusetts. (Silverstone/Red, Neuspeed exhaust, Voodoo shift nob, Upgraded Kenwood door speakers from Lucid as well....with only 3.5K miles....immaculate condition. Only paid $26.5 for it as well...not including enclosed shipping to SD....$1,500.)
I arranged to pick up the car at a Target parking lot approximately 200 yds from where I live (Mission Valley)......first thing.....i peruse the car admiring it....the previous owner had it in excellent shape. As soon as I look on the hood near the "H," I see two large dings with paint scraped off......I almost died!! The truck driver immediately said it was his fault. He explained that when he loaded the car into the cab, it was the first car he picked up so it went to the front, he also took the stock exhaust sytem and tied it to the front of the cab right in front of my car. He tied the exhaust to a bar that held metal panels near the ceiling that lift off (analogy...similar to drop ceilings in commercial buildings).
So, during the trip across the great US of A, the metal panel (light grade metal) shook off and hit my hood. The panel was slightly lifted because rope that was used for the exhaust.
Still with me!!!!....it gets better, or worse i should say!!
Anyway, the driver lives in Oceanside, CA (north SD county), so he asked if I can get it fixed, and then hell pay out of pocket.....i agreed (He didn't do it on purpose). He didn't want it reported to the carrier. His wife travels with him and seemed trustworthy. So, the next thing we do is put the stock exhaust in the trunk of my Maxima, the main pipe sticking out about 2 ft or so. I live nearby (200 yds), so the truck driver said that he'd drive my Maxima to my house and I'd follow him in my tainted s2k, this way one can run into the back of the Maxima (I didn't have any red flag or shirt to tie to the end of the pipe).
It's a busy street and getting near dusk.....he pulls out and sideswipes an '84 Camry.....in my Maxima!!!! I f#*cking s#*t a brick! I instantly became religious!!!......200 hundred freakin yards away from my townhouse!!!!
Needless to say he is now the proud owner of an '84 Camry
!!! The lady was looking to sell it anyway, so they agreed on a price of $1,200. (he must be paying extremely high Insurance rates). So, now the lady doesn't have to try to sell the piece of crap. She's happy!!!
So here I'm thinking, I have a dinged up S2K and a badly bruised Maxima bumper and she sold her car!!
The truck driver bought a car, is paying for a new bumper and hood repair!!
Can anyone top that day!! It's all good!!
PS: the car is awesome!!!!!
