1-2 Grind 22K miles, TSB done twice

 

2000 S2000 with bent shifter fork for 5th gear at about 13,000 miles. Repaired under warranty along with the 1:2 grind fix.

 

2001, 13.5k, 1-2 grind

1-2 grind, no service yet...5500 miles

 

had 1-2 grind..dealer couldnt replicate it..but they did put in the new clutch only..2 weeks later..2nd gear went. Honda states it was due to abuse and would not cover it. So instead of paying 4000.00 for a rebuild..i found a 01 tranny with only 3k on it..for 2100 bucks..they are installing it now at Holler Honda in Orlando, fl. I have since moved back home to NC. My car has been there since may. Im supposed to fly down to get it friday..im feening to drive on the beach before all of summer is over..and before my birthday..16 of aug. While the tranny is out..i did buy a toda flywheel. They are going to install that. What can i say..make the best of a bad situation.

G1S2K, why did you not try and fight Honda on the warranty issue. If you did not abuse the car you should fight it. Small claims court is an excellent place. They can't use attornies and they have to show up themselves to fight it. Sue the dealer that refused to replace it for the cost of your used tranny. George

 

'02 model... completely gone clutch at 2500 miles and nope honda didnt want to cover it...they gave me the typical "wear" bs....ohh well

 

'02 3,700 miles 2-3 shift at higher RPM's.....dealer will call me tomorrow.
