Default Who's familiar w/ coilover/susp. design?

I'm looking into purchasing coilovers and there are a hell of a lot to choose from. Different manufacturers, different designs, and slightly different cost. My goal is to lower the stance about 1/2 - 1'' and maintain or slightly stiffen the ride. I dont plan on doing any autocross or extreme cornering. I've heard of other $ saving alternatives by using aftermarket adjustable shocks and lowering springs or just sport springs w/ the stock shocks. Any help and/or experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

i run kg/mm race springs and koni yellow shocks, i am 100% satisfied. nice drop with adjustable ride stiffness. i have the shocks set at 1/2 stiff and they're still pretty comfortable due to the fact that kg/mm springs feature dual rate technology. dual rate tech. is where the spring feels soft when cruising but the increased spring rates "kick" in while you start making turns.

Coil-overs normally has more suspension travel but I also heard brands like JIC or BC that the uppermount was riding on the bump stop then you have to give the springs some preloads which you don't want. I think Tein RA or Mugens will be your best bet.

You're asking for product information. UTH is not for this. Moving to S2000 Talk.
