You guys are probably wondering what the hell is the subject about. Well, I get this weird noise when I'm driving under 20MPH and it comes on and off. It sounds like I'm dragging something under my car; therefore, the "whrrr". It is really pronounced and it isn't from my exhaust echoing. I also have this loud clacking/clicking noise when I turn in neutral. Is this the diff? Thanks! Latez!

The "whrrr" is probably the differential. Is it when you are coasting and decelerating?

Same question - why are you turning while in neutral?

 

I started getting a similar sound. Hard to reproduce in letters, but mine happens at high rpms. I've not heard it before.

 

I live in San Francisco (Frisco!!!) where there a lot of hills. The only time I turn when I'm in neutral is when I'm parking. I just let my momentum guide me. Trust me, I once tried going in a turn in neutral and it is scary. Latez!

 

Could it be the electric fan going on and off? I only hear it at low speed or stops.
