Damn who really cares if the rates go up. That all about buying the car that you have to take in account of insurance. The insurance will create a check for you in less then a week. Yes, will probably affect everyone but most of us already pay a high premium for our cars. If it does go up it would be very minor in the big picture. I don't care where I drive my car because I know the insurance will pick up my tab. I'm not paranoid and say hmm will my seat get stolen awww I should watch out. If they get stolen they get stolen. Civic in reality get stolen more then S2000 and the rates are reality low. It might cost more for the people in a high crime area or area that get there seats stolen. But I say who cares if your seat get stolen just have the insurance give you check and get some aftermarket seats. If you don't want to wait go pay for an extra 50 dollars to get some SPG 3 day ship to you. I think in reality our seats don't really get stolen as often as you think. Our cars are hardly stolen even at that. The main reason I believe is actually the carelessness of the driver which cause our insurance to go up. Driving the car to fast and not being able to control the limits. I know a couple of S2000 in my area that got wreck just because they couldn't drive. Just remember Honda made the car so we can enjoy it and the insurance was made to take care of life little pop up.

 

i pretty much agree wtih E36Ap1... if my seats get stolen, they get stolen. that is what my insurance is for, i know mine will cut me a check really fast to get new ones. i mean yeah, it'll still bother me that my seats got stolen, but it wont crush me.. and i'm not gonna be all paranoid that they might.

Sell your car and walk. Best piece of mind because there's no car to get stolen in the first place.

Let me say this as I am a claims examiner for a large insurance company. If you claim, your rates WILL go up! There is a threshold for all claims. Even if you are not at fault, if the dollar amount is high enough your rates WILL rise. Insurance is not about protecting you, ITS A BUSINESS! And like all businesses they are here to make money, not help you out in a time of need, you getting your car repaired is a byproduct. Its cold, but true. I sporadically get calls from policyholders that don't understand how there car could be keyed 7 months ago and their premium went up 8% on the half. Its business. I'm not trying to piss anyone off, but I hate it when people start spouting off about this topic and they have no idea how this business works. If you have a concern about your policy please call your broker/ provider and get the info straight from the horses mouth.

 

Well, it's fun for me, considering I like to save Mother Earth and not waste her valuable resources. Why pollute the Earth when I can walk? Sure, it takes 10x as long, but I'm the type that doesn't actually enjoy driving cars. It's more of a hassle than anything else.

 

 

I say screw the whole seat lock thing or alarm. It not like I leave my door open or keep it unlock. But it if someone rips my top and try to get at my seats I say let it be. I don't want them to get frustrated and mess up my seats just because they can't get at them and have the insurance do a half ass claim on it. Just remember this thread was started on saying they were scared about getting there seats stolen. My point in saying who cares the insurance paid just look at the brighter side if it get stolen. It not like I'm encourage you seats to get stolen and have to insurance pay for it. Take the bright side in it and get Recarro SPG, Hardtop, and new soft top. If not really into racing bucket seats get SRD. But leave the paranoia and home.
