And like all businesses they are here to make money, not help you out in a time of need, you getting your car repaired is a byproduct. Its cold, but true. I sporadically get calls from policyholders that don't understand how there car could be keyed 7 months ago and their premium went up 8% on the half. Its business. I'm not trying to piss anyone off, but I hate it when people start spouting off about this topic and they have no idea how this business works. If you have a concern about your policy please call your broker/ provider and get the info straight from the horses mouth.
Yeah, it's a business all right. One that can be as crooked as any of them out there. If there were any way I could run the whole lot of you OUT of business, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

All my life I've been plugged into some statistical database that I only superficially bear any resemblance to in order to offer some excuse on why they have to charge me more. Then, when it's time for the money to go the other way (after having faithfully paid my premiums for the past decade "without" making any claims) they cough up every excuse under the sun as to why they don't have to pay what the claim is worth. Insurance uses their significant influence to get laws passed that "require" us to buy insurance. It's great for them and, as often as not, a complete rip off for the rest of us. I could go on and on and on about this but I'll spare the forum on that. I'm sure 99% of the folks understand where I'm coming from anyway.

Actually, I don't have a problem with the idea of insurance but I'm coming more and more to the opinion that it should not be a "for profit" business. Yes, I know there will be some cost to administering the process but it wouldn't break my heart if I / we weren't paying some slushhead CEO 6 to 7 digits a year on top of that!

I'll step down off my soapbox now!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

My seats were stolen 2 weeks ago. The replacement seats are going to be about $6k from the factory. They come in about 100 pieces and have to be assembled at the dealer. I thought about getting aftermarket seats then I said, screw it and got the '04 red/black seats. My top was also slashed and my stereo stolen. It was all covered by insurance, but they are going to KICK my ass when renewal comes around!

This is why I believe in the philosophy below:

"If I have worked for it ... payed for it ... its mine ... if you try to take what is mine ... I will take your life ... It's a fair trade ... and you have been given fair warning" -- Dr. Werner Betz

I still think Honda should have at least tried to make the seat/rails different (fitting) to these cars. I guess it goes down to savings.

We never heard of nissan 350z seats stolen . I owned two 350z and left the door unlocked all the time.

I guess there are more ricers in the honda world.
