and yes, it would be obnoxious to see it basically glowing "88" when accelerating hard.
unless you were in a delorean outfitted with a flux capacitor. in which case it would be awesome.

a display that showed every digit on the way up would just be a blur. with ours, if you glance down, it shows a number. better to be off by a couple than unable to ready anything at all.

Honda made it that way. Not because the sensor/display is limited, its just has a slow refresh rate.

1. LCD can flash numbers pretty fast. Look at your RPM display, pretty quick. How about those LCD timers you see during gaming events.

2. The sensor (VSS) is at the tranny, it doesn't care about how fast your wheel/tire is spinning.

Just wanted to clarify the misinformation. Like others said before, its deliberate.

Haha Oh yes, who can forget that? One that reads in tenths of a mph.

Like others have said, this is deliberate and required, and much more conventional. My RX8 did the same thing, as has every digital dash I have seen in the past.

Love the Knight Rider speedo though. Would be nice to have an LCD readout with both options.

LCD's on motorcycles are in binary. You need a slide rule to convert, so, yes there is a delay.

Why cant the speedo keep up?, Like on video games
Seriously? Why not ask "Why can't we take countless bullets and keep on functioning unhindered like in video games?" or "Why can't we crash aircraft and keep flying like in video games?"...

My waistline keeps my speedo up.

See if you can get that image out of your head.
