Why did I mis-shift?

You are overdriving your shifter. Just relax, you can do the 2 -> 3 and 3-> 4 shifts(and 5 -> 4) with one finger easily. Actually, w/a Honda manual you can do pretty much all your shifts w/one finger, all the others just take more planning.

Oh, forgot to add that you don't want to skip gears shifting up. Mis-shifting down = bad for engine, mis-shifting up = bad for tranny(although not as bad)
